in this first research brief, i looked at the brunswick centre in london and made a section model of it along with drawing to scale plans and sections from my visits to the site.
this brief instructed us all to come up with an idea for an installation in front of an existing museum. these models were all my iterations from initial form finding exercises.
the design i made was for a lake to be created and for the people to use a series of steps in order to reach the inside of the installation which frames and directs light in different rays depending on the time of day creating intricate reflections on the surface of the water.
these tests were made from plaster. finding different ways to use plaster and different types of moulds in each model.
this design was done for wellbeck street car park competition brief. the design we came up with included a partial demolition of the building’s interior whilst keeping the facade. the design was for a community wellness centre and the feeling that we wanted to achieve was for it to be an experiential space. where people could both relax, work, leave their kids and eat as well.
